In general, all CIMtools forms are used to enter and submit information. Forms may have different sets of questions and answers, but they all use a common set of field types.

Form Use - Entering Information
|
1. Start at the top of the form. 2. Enter or select the value, depending on the field type (see below). Use the TAB key to move to the next field or use your mouse to click on the next field or selection. Repeat this step for every field in the form. 3. If necessary, you can scroll up and change an answer. Make sure everything you entered is correct before you submit the information. 4. To send the form information to its destination, click on the Submit button.

Form Fields - Understanding Types
|
Each field type looks different and is used differently. Edit or Text box: These use one line or multiple lines. Make sure your cursor is inside the box and then type in your answers. Descriptive and longer answers are usually entered in a box that is wider or has multiple lines.

Select or List box:These provide text choices. For a Select box, click on the arrow to see the items and then click on your choice. For a List box, use the arrows to scroll through the list and click on your choice. Some List boxes may allow you to choose more than one selection by holding down the CTRL key.

Check box: These provide an easy way to answer a basic question. You can positively (yes or true) with a check or negatively (no or false) with no check. If the box is empty, click on it to turn on the check. If the box is checked, click on it to turn off the check.

Radio buttons: These provide answers that you can choose from by clicking on the circle next to your choice. The items and their radio buttons may appear horizontally or vertically. Only one selection can be made.

Date or Date/Time: These fields allow you to select a date or a date and time. For a date field: Click on the arrow for the first box to see the months and click on your choice. Click on the arrow for the second box to see the days and click on your choice. Enter the year in the third box if needed. For a date/time field: Follow the instructions above for the date. Click on the arrow for the fourth box to see the hours and click on your choice. Click on the arrow for the fifth box to see the minutes and click on your choice. Click on the arrow for the sixth box and click on AM or PM.
